Colour in Context: Postcards
Inspired by the quote, “all experience of colour is an event” (David Batchelor, 2018). Colour is considered an event as it requires a place or object, a light source, and an observer. With all these elements interacting together, colour becomes an experience or an event. My Intention was to show how these locations have their own beautiful and distinct colour palette, and how colour is very much a part of the experience when visiting a city or town. While cities might be best experienced in darkness, landscapes like this are best experienced in the day, as they are full of brightness and an abundance of colours.
Travelling has not been apart of the agenda for all of us over the past few years. Although, as we get the chance to travel more now, I believe this is a project I can continue on with to create my own collection of handmade postcards.
